About the Business
Bernard Dixon was born and bred in Doncaster and whilst appreciating the industry of his hometown, Bernard's artistic eye drew him to the natural beauty of the Yorkshire coastline and he relocated to Scarborough in 2007.
Although Bernard has no formal art training in the traditional sense he is an experienced photographer, designer and illustrator. He began developing his artistic skills whilst working as an industrial illustrator. For over 40 years, he honed his drawing skills by producing operating, maintenance and training manuals. These manuals and images were extensively used by engineers on diverse objects from small machine tools to complete London Underground Trains.
As a draughtsman and illustrator, Bernard used only pencil for the first 20 years of his career, until the development of computers added a new dimension to the illustrations.
