About the Business
This form of art reveals expression, detail, feeling and above all colour, which to me is one of the most important aspects of this art form. The colours used are spirit colour and the main ingredient is shellac with which the boards are given many coats. I was a French polisher and antique restorer, having learnt the trade from my late father, so the use of these materials has come as second nature to me. Today many of these materials and techniques are only found in museums and in the restoration of antique furniture, which goes to prove its durability.
The paintings have a high gloss finish, however slight imperfections may be found on the board or appear during the drying process. The pictures take up to 3 months to dry and one should avoid direct sunlight. I have tried to make my paintings as affordable as possible. If you can give yourself to the painting as in meditation, you may go on a journey and be inspired. I hope you get as much pleasure out of my paintings as I have.
