Exhibited at the major art fairs in Northern Europe and the United Kingdom, Jonathan Knight’s enchanting bronze animal sculptures have given him a wide collectorship amongst the connoisseurs of wildlife and equine art. He is widely recognized as one of the finest and most original wildlife and equine artists of his generation.
Released in strictly limited editions of twelve bronze casts or less, his animal and bird sculptures are remarkable for the “life spark” that inhabits them, combined with a minimalist approach to detail. On the other hand, his equine bronzes, whilst truly faithful to the essential character of the horse, are finished with a loving attention to detail and texture.
Increasingly, a deep concern for the conservation of threatened species informs his work. This is reflected in the African wildlife and African game sculptures which he creates, and through which he hopes to increase awareness of this issue.
His bronze horse sculptures are on both small and large scale, with lifesize equestrian bronzes featuring on studs such as Cheveley Park Stud , racecourses such as Cheltenham racecourse and Penang Turf Club, Malaysia, and in prestigious public spaces such as the foyer of the Four Seasons Hotel, Park Lane.
Jonathan Knight also undertakes special commissions, both public and private, and is happy to discuss with clients details of their requirements in order to arrive at a design and budget that suits all.
